JIMMY Manley scored a hat-trick of tries as Banbury Bulls thrashed hosts Old Yardleians 50-14 with a display of exhilarating running rugby.

Josh Deegan and Jimmy Manley gave the visitors a good start, before Jake White got Yardleians on the board with an interception try which he converted.

But the scores were not close for long, as Banbury took the game by the scruff of its neck.

A quick tap penalty paved the way for Dan Tooth to touch down, followed by the first of five conversions from Eddie Phillips.

The bonus point was in the bag before half-time, when second row forward Matt Brock gathered a loose ball after Deegan was stopped just short of the line.

Banbury were in no mood to let up in the second half.

Deegan and Tooth crossed for their second tries of the day, while Manley added another two in quick succession to complete his haul as Banbury stayed in touch with the leaders.
