RUGBY UNION: Exiles bring in Scott to face Exeter

London Welsh head coach Lyn Jones makes just one change from the starting line up which faced Harlequins for the Aviva Premiership clash with Exeter Chiefs at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Nick Scott, who scored seven tries in 12 Championship appearances for the Exiles last season after joining the club on loan from Bath, comes in for Joe Ajuwa on the wing, with Scott’s place on the bench taken by the versatile James Lewis . The only other change sees Jonah Holmes, return to the squad in place of Nick Runciman.

Tomorrow could also throw up a bit of sibling rivalry with London Welsh full back Tom Arscott set to face brother Luke, the Exeter full back.

Having faced last season’s top two in Leicester and Harlequins so far, the visit of Exeter looks to offer an easier opportunity for Welsh’s first league points.

Jones stressed: “We need to focus on our performance and the process rather than outcomes at the moment.

“We are a few weeks behind where we would like to be.

“If we start looking at matches and making them must-win games, we are going to put ourselves under a lot more pressure.

“It is disappointing that we didn’t ake a step up from our our Leicester peformance against Harlequins. As we improve, hopefully the results will come our way.”

Exiles are still adjusting to the top flight.

Jones said: “The way the game is officiated is completely different.”

London Welsh : Arscott, Mackenzie, Parker, Tonga’uiha, Scott, Ross, Keats,Montanella, Briggs, Mills, Corker, Browne, Denbee, Jackson. Reps: George, Bristow, Joly, Kulemin, To’oala, Holmes, Lewis, Jewell.
