RUGBY UNION: Welsh unveil prices

London Welsh have announced the ticket prices for their debut season in the Aviva Premiership at the Kassam Stadium, Oxford.
Individual tickets for adults range from £18-30, with concessions £15 and children under 12 costing £5.
Adult season tickets start at £225, which covers home league and cup games, excluding       semi-finals and finals.
The Exiles make their top-flight debut at the Kassam against Leicester Tigers on Sunday, September 2.

Top-class rugby union is new to Oxfordshire -- so you'd think London Welsh would have some original ideas about how to fill the Kassam seats. With the first game on national TV it is important for them to create the right impression with a full stadium. But these ticket prices are a turn-off. For the opening matches London Welsh could have shown some initiative with cheap tickets, two-for-one, that sort of thing. Then, if the team produces attractive rugby, maybe prices can rise to the level of other Premiership clubs. But so far their marketing strategy is clueless. ...
