Not enough tries - to much pick and drive. I heard from Carole that Quins scored at least 46 tries against this lot!!

Ed, any chance of you covering any of the other teams in Oxfordshire other than Quins and Chinnor every week?

Looking at some of the fixtures yesterday there were two Oxfordshire derbies (Chippy v Bicester and Oxford v Gosford) while Wallingford and Grove also had home games.

There are other teams in Oxfordshire you know

Indeed BertandErnie, but they're rubbish!

I agree b+e. I know for a fact that a match report is sent in from one of the players almost every week, and also with Oxford on the brink of promotion a generous write up is due. R.o.b, u should come down and watch one of the above teams mentioned, I think you will be surprised what home grown players can do.

Did anyone else spot it? Probably not, as the attention was once again on a Wasps Academy player, but am I right in thinking that Jack Green is a rare example of a player emerging from Chinnor's own youth system? Does this offer hope for my lad, or should I take him off to the city?

Touchline_Tom: You are OBVIOUSLY stuck in a time warp.
Chinnor's U16's have already been crowned Oxfordshire Champions this year. The U15s are close to being crowned Champions. So, if you want to take your lad off to the city, so be it.

As for the team that was out on Saturday, I bet if you add up the number of years played for Chinnor by the 1st team and compared it to the same calculation for Quins, there will only be 1 winner.

So, its time to drop the Chinnor only imports players rubbish as its clear that you truly ARE stuck in a time warp.

I would like to point out that at least 15 players in Chinnors second team every week have come up through the chinnor ranks from minis. The team play in The Tech Shield Div Two. against second teams from Nat 1 and 2, ie Henley,Shelford,Eshe
r, Richmond,Blackheath,
Worthing,London Scottish,Westcombe Park,Barnes.
Nat 3 Bournemouth,Maidenhe
ad, and Redingensians. And most of the above teams we play could hold their own in national 3. By the way the top 3 teams are seperated by 1 point after 20 games. Henley and Shelford 45 points Chinnor 44 points. So at Chinnor 36 players get a high standard of competative rugby every week. Not bad for a village team. Why would anyone feel they needed to move?

Sorry chaps, what's this about warp? It's not about the Under whatever being crowned champions or playing in a league for SECOND teams, it's about what the first team does with a stream of youth flowing into it. If Chinnor are officially grooming their juniors for the Canterbury League, it's definitely city rugby for my lad. As for the number of years played etc, where's Carol when you need her?
P.S. for Walter: Thame is not a village, thought the mentality is!

Brilliant! Thame Town RFC scrape a bonus point for scoring 5 tries against a sieve side and Ed describes it as a "comprehensive win". Does this mean that the boys get a win bonus (filthy money?)? The Quins scored 11 tries against this bunch (not quite 46 VI!) without blinking. Unless Ed is being very coy, it does really say something about Thame supporters when they pay £7 to see a prop get the star man award against a team who have been gifting tries all season. Pick and drive boys! I bet Chris Elder was glad he played - a winger catching hypothermia on a sunny day.
Carol V, please check: Quins £5 = 45p per try.
Thame Town/Chinnor Village (prejudice dependent, when did location ever matter?) £7 = £1.40 per try. But I hear the facilities are good, i.e. plenty of space to celebrate an away win.
Apologies C_F, but do you have goose in the countryside? I can provide advice on how to cook it.

Walter,
It's great to see Chinnor have 36 players capable of playing National Three. Just a few questions; are these extra players different from the players Chinnor 1st fielded earlier in the season when the team was decimated with injuries and kept losing? (Perhaps they were 3rd team local boys)
Is the reason you charge £7 gate money because you have to pay win bonus to your seconds as well ?

C_C: So we only scored 5 tries - big deal. Your constant whining about £5 vs. £7 and price per try is now becoming very boring - cant you think of something new to go on about?

When Quins have their own club house, their own ground and changing rooms then you can crow from the hills. As long as you ground share with Oxford RFU, then your comments are not worth consideration.

As for Stockys contribution and player of the day, then maybe you should watch the video when its posted because neither Stocky nor Cosher got their comments for anything other than open play.

Touchline Tom, it will be sad if you feel you ned to move your son from Chinnor to the city but an understandable decision if you feel he will grow more as a player, however I hope this is his decision!! and not an over zelaous father. The players do develope through the senior teams and let me tell you there are lot of people championing them including Walter. I do disagree with you on the youth side of thing, we have many great players past and present from Chinnor who have come through the youth development and still are but have had to put in the work to get to senior level just because they shine as a junior doesn't make them automatically brilliant in the senior game. City Cyclops banter is good, yours is just bitter nastiness and more adapt with the likes of footballers. Awesome that Quins are doing well about time I would say lets drop the rubbish keep the banter and just enjoy the rugby from all our local teams.
