RUGBY UNION: Cathcart on song

James Cathcart kicked 14 points as Chinnor earned a 24-16 victory at Cleve.

Liam Gilbert returned at No 8 after injury in place of Tom Mowbray in the only change to the side beaten by Oxford Harlequins.

Cathcart put Chinnor ahead with a third-minute penalty, and lock Harry Jackman’s try made it 8-0.

Cleve hit back to lead 13-8 at the break with fly half Matt Spencer converting lock Dave Partington’s try and adding two penalties.

The latter came after Chinnor full back Alex Wallace was sin-binned.

Wallace made amends with a 46th-minute try, converted by Cathcart.

Cathcart slotted three more penalties to Spencer’s one to seal victory.

24 points and only one try? The bonus points system hasn't registered for some! I know who I'd rather watch.........

Hi C_C
Think you need Carol for your stats!

We scored 2 tries; THE SAME number of tries that Quins scored at Cleve on 30th January!

So that being said the reason for all the penalties was due to some very interesting offside play and very inconsistent reffing (offside was obviously a new thing to him at times).

Its clear that stats are not really your bag after all!

I stand corrected. I was using the Rugby Round up site and it was difficult to spot the T amongst all the P's! I hope their stats on tries (Quins 90 v Chinnor 55) are correct, though you beat us on penalties, 32 v 15.
