Six Oxfordshire under 16 players have been selected for the south west divisional squad.
Nick Boyall (Radley College), Aron Coleman (Gosford All Blacks), Matt Thomas (Shiplake College and Henley), Liam O’Neill (Bloxham School and Stratford), Gus Jones (Eton College and Oxford Harlequins) and Dave Hughes (Henry Box School and Witney) have all made the next stage in England’s selection process.
They will be joined by players from across the region for the first training session at Bryanston School in Dorset.
Meanwhile, Oxon under 16s lost 10-5 to Dorset & Wilts at St Edward’s School, Oxford in a weather-affected clash.
The visitors led 10-0 thanks to as converted try and penalty, but Oxon hit back on 30 minutes when a bruising drive ended in a try for lock Dave Hughes.
Despite a masterful performance from Liam O’Neill at full back, Oxfordshire could not claw back the deficit.
