WHEATLEY were unable to make it seven wins in a row as hosts Didcot secured a 26-9 victory.

Despite three Aaron Laman penalties, the home side led 10-9 at half-time in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier encounter.

Didcot deservedly went on to claim victory, adding 16 points after the break, while Laman and Jordan Hook were yellow-carded for Wheatley.

In the Championship, Harwell beat Aldermaston 12-5.

Ben Granville and Dave Baker crossed, with Andy Lee converting the first try.

Second-placed Oxford lost 15-12 at leaders Risborough.

Chipping Norton beat Faringdon 43-8.

Wallingford secured a 25-5 victory away to Oxfordshire counterparts Gosford All Blacks in Southern Counties North.

The visitors led 13-0 at half-time, thanks to a Max Suttner try, converted by Phil Dawes, who had earlier kicked two penalties.

Harry Lewis and Jack Edwards then went over, Dawes converting the second, before Gosford scored a late consolation.
