CATHERINE Wilcock is backing Oxford University Women to overcome the nerves that come with playing at Twickenham.

The Dark Blues suffered a 52-0 defeat to Cambridge University last year when the ladies fixture was played at the home of English rugby for the first time.

Wilcock is set to win her third Blue, a first as captain, today and is confident Oxford, who are under the guidance of England’s 2014 World Cup-winning coach Gary Street, can end back-to-back defeats against the Light Blues.

The fly half, who is studying history at Wadham College, said: “I completely believe in my team and I know we can do it.

“If we play to our best then I think it will be good enough.

“All the pressure is on Cambridge after their two big wins over us.

“We have an experienced side and we won’t get caught out by the enormity of the occasion this year.”
