CHINNOR were forced to dig deep to ensure a 23-19 win at home to Dorking.
A Henry Lamont score and penalty try helped the hosts to a 12-0 lead in the National League 2 South clash. Will Cargill converted the latter.
Armand Roux crossed for Dorking, with Matt Noble adding the extras.
But a Cargill penalty extended Chinnor’s lead to 15-7, before Benji Marfo touched down for the visitors.
Oscar Heath’ try stretched their advantage to 20-12, but they were up against it as Matt Bolwell, Lamont and Cargill were sin-binned.
Chinnor defended well until Ollie Hutson crossed, with Noble converting for 20-19.
But the hosts won a penalty on 76 minutes, which Heath calmly slotted over the posts.
Henley slipped to a 26-17 defeat at Wharfedale in National League 1.
Hawks led 14-3 after 23 minutes, thanks to tries from Tom Bliss and Tom Hall, both converted by Liam O’Niell.
James Guy had kicked a penalty for the hosts, who had Rob Baldwin sin-binned, before Jordan Poole crossed.
Guy added the extras to make it 14-10 at the break.
The hosts then took control as Guy landed a penalty, before converting a Cameron Hudson try.
The fly half then added two further three-pointers.
