A LATE penalty try earned Bicester a hard-fought 18-13 win at Stow-on-the-Wold in Southern Counties North.
Two Tom Miles penalties saw the visitors lead 6-0, before Stow centre Craig Chapman crossed for an unconverted try.
Bicester’s Andrew Faulkner was sin-binned and the hosts went ahead when Daniel Salvage ploughed across.
The visitors replied with a Mike Harris try.
Stow’s Archie Hayward banged over a penalty for a 13-11 lead.
But Bicester earned victory when a rolling maul led to a penalty try and Miles added the extras.
Wallingford sealed a narrow 17-16 victory against Drifters.
With the hosts having a man in the sin-bin early on, Wallingford’s Phil Dawes slotted a penalty for 3-0.
But the visitors soon lost James Springer to a yellow card and Drifters replied with a three-pointer of their own.
The hosts lost another player to the bin and Wallingford’s Pete McKinley crossed. Dawes added the extras to make it 10-3.
A converted try and two penalties saw the hosts lead 16-10 in the second half.
But after the match was moved to an adjacent pitch due to nasty head injury to a Drifters player, Antony Marris went over and Dawes added the extras.
