Matt Goode has returned to Banbury to take up a dual role which will also see him assist the club’s youngsters.

The 32-year-old, who started his playing career in the club’s Colts side at the age of six, has also been appointed Banbury’s youth development officer.

Goode was capped by England Under 18s and played more than 250 National League games.

The former Chinnor coach and player said: “Although I’ve never really been away from Banbury this does feel a bit like coming home.

“The youth section has grown enormously and I can’t wait to help shape its future successes while also developing rugby into the community.

“This will be my 26th consecutive rugby season and what better way to finish by playing where I started.”

Banbury’s new clubhouse will be officially opened on September 13, a day after their Midlands 2 West (South) opener against Spartans (Midlands).
