A MINUTE’S silence will be held before Oxford RL’s match with London Skolars in memory of Danny Jones.
The 29-year-old Keighley Cougars player died from a suspected cardiac arrest after being taken ill against the Skolars in Kingstone Press League 1 last weekend.
There will also be a bucket collection at Iffley Road on Sunday, with all proceeds going to Jones’s wife Liz and their five-month-old twins Phoebe and Bobby.
The RFL Benevolent Fund have also set up a fundraising page at justgiving.com/dannyjones29.
Oxford will be looking to bounce back against the Skolars after losing 36-20 at Newcastle Thunder last weekend.
Head coach Tim Rumford said: “It’s a big game for us against Skolars.
“We respect them, they’re a decent side with some good players.
“Eventually they’re going to turn it on and string some performances together.
“It’s probably an evenly-matched game on paper, some of the defensive things against Newcastle we’ll be looking to replicate and there’s one or two things we need to fix up.”
