Hooker Rob Elloway will make his first Aviva Premiership start for London Welsh against Gloucester at Kingsholm on Saturday (3).

Elloway comes in for the injured Koree Britton as the whipping boys make nine changes, including one positional, for the trip to Kingsholm.

Welsh will be without five of the starting line-up humiliated 52-12 by Sale Sharks at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium last weekend, with Britton joined by Nick Scott, Richard Thorpe, Opeti Fonua and Seb Jewell on the injury list.

In the backs, Elliot Kear replaces Jewell at full back, with Alan Awcock coming in on the left wing for Scott.

Will Robinson and Piri Weepu form a new-look half back partnership.

In the forwards, Eddie Aholelei comes in at loose head prop.

Dean Schofield partners James Down in the second row, with Ben West moving from lock to blindside flanker to replace Thorpe.

Ben Pienaar starts at No 8 in place of Fonua.

Scrum half Callum Braley makes his first start for Gloucester, while Henry Trinder is back in the starting XV for the first time since September.

Aleki Lutui takes over from Darren Dawidiuk at hooker, with James Hudson and Ross Moriarty also coming into the side.
