NATIONAL 3 SOUTH WEST

OXFORD Harlequins’ bid for a third straight victory came up just short with a 23-12 home defeat to Weston-super-Mare.

Quins led 12-9 at the break, but converted tries from Harry Jones and Hayden Tuttiett on 72 and 76 minutes ended their hopes.

Weston, who included former England prop Darren Crompton, started the stronger and went 6-0 up thanks to two penalties from Jack Skelton.

Quins fought back well and took the lead when Ethan Carlisle converted a try from Jack Robinson, who ran in under the posts on 21 minutes.
