NATIONAL 2 SOUTH

ED Keohane scored a hat-trick of tries as Chinnor began with a 45-18 victory over Dings Crusaders at Kingsey Road.

The fly half also kicked two conversions on an impressive debut, but Chinnor had to recover from a slow start.

Dings led 6-0 with two long-range penalties from metronomic fly half Mark Woodrow.

Hooker Adam Chaplin’s chargedown try made it 11-0 before Chinnor got going.

Firstly, No 8 Alfie To’oala scored a pushover try, converted by scrum-half Reece Boughton, then Keohane bashed through for his first.

On 42 minues, centre Junior Fatiolofa took an exquisite line and put Keohane over for Chinnor’s third try, Boughton converting.

Chinnor’s lead became 31-11 when wing Reuben Haile drove over in the corner and To’oala added a second pushover try, Boughton converting the latter.

Haile skipped through the tackles to score his second under the posts on 76 minutes, Keohane converting.

Christian Gervais pulled a try back two minutes later, with Woodrow converting.

But Keohane completed the scoring, dancing his way to the line and adding the extras.

Henley Hawks, who were relegated from National 1, edged to a 13-10 victory at promoted Dorking.

Hawks fly half James Comben and his opposite number Matt Noble traded early penalties.

Comben’s long-range effort restored Henley’s lead on 16 minutes.

Dorking had lock Matt Higgins yellow-carded and fell further behind when No 8 Robbie Stapley went over in the corner.

Scrum-half Conor Murphy converted as Comben had gone off with an ankle injury.

After the break, Dorking flanker Harry Watts charged down Murphy’s clearance to score, with Noble converting.

Dorking had passed up a kickable penalty before half-time and had a last-gasp chance to level after Henley captain Dave Clements was yellow-carded.

But Noble’s 45m kick went wide.
