MATT Corker returns from a heart problem tomorrow as London Welsh seek a victory at London Scottish to seal a play-off spot (2).

Club captain Corker is back at lock, having not played for Welsh since November 3.

The 31-year-old has come through treatment for an irregular heartbeat.

“Nobody plays forever, I know that, and I’ve been very lucky in my career with injuries, but I just can’t wait to play, and play with my mates,” said Corker.

“I’m very excited; it feels like it’s been a very long time.

“I’ve just been trying to work as hard as I can to support the team and get myself right and hopefully that will all culminate in Sunday’s performance.”

Victory over their traditional rivals and former neighbours Scottish will guarantee Oxford-based Welsh a top-four spot with three matches to spare.

And that has been the main focus in training this week, according to assistant coach Ollie Smith.

“At the start of the season, the first target was to qualify for the top four,” he said.

“We have got to be on the ball. There is a lot riding on this week because we want to qualify for that play-off spot sooner rather than later.”

Corker is one of seven Welsh changes. Flankers Mitch Lees and Mike Denbee both return, with Dan Browne moving to No 8.

Chris Cook and Alex Davies are the half-back pairing, while James Tincknell is at inside centre.

Loosehead prop Jamie Kilbane replaces Nic Mayhew for Scottish.
