MIDLANDS 2 WEST SOUTH

BANBURY Bulls were made to work hard for a 18-15 victory at lowly Dunlop.

Fly half Alex Fogavini’s injury-time try won it for Banbury, who climbed to fourth, but Dunlop missed a penalty to equalise at the death.

Fogavini put Bulls ahead with a penalty, but Dunlop kicker Danny James replied in kind.

Banbury enjoyed their best period of the match when good handling by the backs created two quick tries.

First Josh Deegan was put clear on the right wing and when he was stopped just short of the line the supporting David Taylor was on hand to score.

Another attack saw the ball go through several pair of hands and wing Lawrence Jackson crossed for an excellent team try.

Dunlop hit back to lead 15-13, with prop Aaron Jarvis and hooker Alex Clohessy going over, James converting the former.

Bulls dug in to keep Dunlop at bay in the second half before Fogavini found the space to cross for the winning try in the corner.

There was still time for Dunlop to earn a penalty, but James’s kick came up agonisingly short.

Banbury, who host leaders Earlsdon on Saturday, have now won three games in a row.
