GORDON Ross is expecting London Welsh to return to form when they visit Bedford Blues in the Greene King IPA Championship tomorrow.
The Exiles fly half and assistant coach said they had let their standards slip in the last two matches against Ealing and Moseley, despite winning both comfortably.
“We had a tough three weeks with Cornish Pirates, Leeds and Bristol,” he said.
“After that we maybe were a bit too easy on the boys and took the foot off the gas in training.
“They probably have not had the same work ethic since, but they have really picked it up this week.”
Welsh defeated Bedford 23-14 on the opening day at Saracens’ Allianz Park, after which the Blues lost six of their next seven matches before beating Plymouth Albion 27-16 last Friday.
Ross said: “Bedford have had quite a lot of personnel changes since we played them, so it should be a different team.
“They will also have a bit more confidence after the Plymouth win.
“There have been some extremely tight games between London Welsh and Bedford since I have been here and I am expecting the same this time.”
