FARINGDON hooker Jon Woodward described achieving a first victory at their new Folly Sports Park ground as “a superb feeling”.

Brian Doyle (2) and Mark Viner, scored tries and Darren Clark kicked 16 points in their 31-27 win over Crowthorne in the BB&O Championship on Saturday.

Woodward said: “It was a superb feeling to get that first win at the new ground, and to be honest, a bit of a relief too.

“After going 17-0 up, there was a real grim determination by all the players to close the game down.

“But in the last ten minutes Crowthorne threw everything at us.

“We all hope we can bounce off this and start to climb up the league a little.”
