Players swapped tackle bags for computer screens when London Welsh were invited to dabble in global financial markets.
Members of the Exiles squad visited the London Academy of Trading (LAT) on a day organised by the Rugby Players’ Association (RPA).
Players learnt about stocks and trading as part of an RPA development programme, which helps them forge a new career after professional rugby.
They then got to test their new skills on a virtual floor where only wing Dante Mama recorded a profit.
He said: “I decided to invest heavily in oil, which was a risk because I could have lost everything, but I was always confident it would pay off.”
