Chinnor threw it away as they slipped to a disappointing home defeat. Here is the numbers' game. See Tuesday’s paper for full report.
National 2 South
Chinnor 17, Dings Crusaders 21
Chinnor player ratings
15. Matt Mountford 6 (solid enough).
14. Tristan Corpe 6 (a couple of good runs).
13. Matt Goode 7 (decent all-round game).
12. Sam Stoop 6 (mixed bag).
11. Tom Gray 7 (pace posed a threat).
10. Will Millett 8 (STAR MAN, looked the part).
9. Frank Jones 6 (did his job).
1. Joe Winpenny 6 (battled well).
2. Matt Holyland 6 (set-piece could be better).
3. Joe Pickett 8 (went out with a bang before leaving for Australia).
4. Tom Mowbray 6 (got stuck in).
5. Andy Smith 7 (very reliable).
6. David Hughes 7 (made some big tackles).
7. Evan Sawyer 6 (played his part).
8. Liam Gilbert 6 (a little subdued).
Replacements used:
16. Tom Whelan 6 (filled in fine).
17. Andy Berry 6 (decent effort).
18. Adam Hastings 6 (brief cameo).
20. Henry Colver 6 (little chance to impress).
Referee: Karl Kirkpatrick (Warrington) – 6 (not always consistent).
Entertainment rating: 6.
Highlight: Matt Goode’s try showed how slick Chinnor’s backs can be.
Lowlight: Chinnor’s lack of intensity in the final quarter as Dings came on strong.
Form guide: This was a blip to an otherwise strong season at home for Chinnor, but shows they will be punished if they lose focus at this level.
