OXFORD United boss Les Taylor fancies his side’s chances of springing a surprise when they travel to FA Women’s Super League 2 promotion hopefuls Yeovil Town tomorrow (2pm).

The hosts are six games unbeaten in the league and third in the table, but following successive wins over Watford and Millwall Lionesses, Taylor is confident of claiming a result.

“The pressure’s on them this weekend,” he said.

“They need to win if they’re going to stay in touch with the promotion race, whereas we can maybe go and play with a bit more freedom.

“They’ll obviously set their stall out for three points, but things don’t always go to plan and if we get the lead early doors then the nerves could affect them.”

It’s been three weeks since United’s last competitive action, with the squad at full strength following Rebecca Dandridge’s return to fitness.

The layoff has left the U’s especially keen to get back on the field as they approach the final three matches of the season.

“Usually it’s difficult when you have a bit of a break to keep everyone motivated,” said Taylor.

“But the girls have trained really well and you can see everyone’s really looking forward to the game.”
