OXFORD United are set to receive a double dose of good news tomorrow when Ryan Ledson and Rob Hall make their playing returns.

The pair are expected to feature for the development squad in a behind-closed-doors game away to Milton Keynes Dons.

Ledson has yet to start a game since signing from Everton in August and has been out since tearing cartilage in the warm-up at Southend United last month.

The midfielder is expected to be available for first-team action sooner than Hall, who will be introduced slowly after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in April.

Despite the serious injury, head coach Michael Appleton expects the winger to be as good as before once he regains full fitness.

He said: “Hopefully he will have the same impact.

“For me he’s a Championship player with bags of pace. He creates a lot and most clubs he’s been at he’s weighed in with important goals and is at an age now from a maturity point of view he’ll get better.”

l THE FA Youth Cup clash between Oxford United and Bristol Rovers will be played this Thursday evening.

Abingdon United’s Northcourt Road is hosting the first-round tie (7.45pm), where tickets are £5 adults and £2 concessions.
