OXFORD United look set to be without two players for next weekend's Sky Bet League One clash with Rochdale due to international call-ups.

Benji Buchel and Tyler Roberts have been selected for Liechtenstein and Wales Under 19s respectively.

Buchel could also miss next Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy tie with Exeter City.

Liechtenstein play a friendly against Denmark in Horsens a day later, before opening their World Cup qualifying campaign away to Spain in Leon on September 5.

It would leave United with Simon Eastwood as the only goalkeeper in the squad, but one option is to recall youngster Jack Stevens, who is at Oxford City on a youth loan.

Oxford Mail:

  • Tyler Roberts made his first Oxford United start against Brighton in midweek

Roberts, on-loan from West Bromwich Albion, is in the Wales Under 19 squad for two games against Iceland.

The first clash, at Dragon Park, Newport, will be held on Sunday, September 4 – 24 hours after Dale visit the Kassam Stadium in Sky Bet League One.

They play again on September 6, so Roberts will return in time to prepare for the U’s derby with Swindon Town four days later.

Former U’s winger Callum O’Dowda has been called up to the senior Republic of Ireland squad for games against Oman and Serbia.
