JOHNNY Mullins admits Oxford United’s squad were not happy with their performance against Blackburn Rovers, but relish the chance to put things right tomorrow.

The U’s take a 2-0 lead into the second leg of their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy southern area final against Millwall with a trip to Wembley awaiting the winners.

And that, says Mullins, is perfect incentive to put Saturday’s defeat behind them.

“It has been a very good run, but we are disappointed with our performance today,” he said.

“But we have got a massive game Tuesday and this is done now.

“Fair play to Blackburn. They pressed us high and have come here and won 3-0 so there’s not much more to say."

All attention now turns to Millwall.

“We are just going to treat Tuesday as a one-off game,” he said. “We will forget about the 2-0 lead.”

“We have got to make sure in the first 20 minutes we are right at it, because we maybe weren’t today.

“I think Blackburn scored at good times for them and bad times for us.

“We knew even without Jordan Rhodes they had quality all over the pitch.”
