MICHAEL Appleton is well aware of the goalscoring threat posed by today’s opposition Morecambe.

The Shrimps have scored 17 in their last six games, with only Carlisle having netted more in Sky Bet League Two.

“They score a lot of goals, concede a few too, but they are very dangerous and have the same amount of points as us, so clearly it’s no forgone conclusion,” the Oxford United head coach said.

Morecambe have won their last two away games, but saw a four-game winning streak ended with a 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Northampton Town last week.

“Going forwards we’re looking good and are really positive,” boss Jim Bentley said. “But there’s a fine line between scoring goals and conceding them.”

Neither side has fresh injury worries, with Callum O’Dowda fit to start for United despite coming off early in last week’s clash with Portsmouth after picking up a head injury.
