A CHARITY bridge competition in Blakedown helped raise more than £1,000 for a number of good causes.
Kidderminster & District Soroptimists held their annual Spring Bridge tournament at Blakedown Parish Rooms on April 29.
Around 80 avid bridge players took part competing through a number of rounds for prizes in the form of vouchers.
More than £1,000 was raised from the event, which also included a raffle, and will be donated to ‘Children in Need in the Ebola Crisis’, Worcestershire Young Carers and the Nepal Crisis Appeal Fund.
Shirley Bonas, president of the Kidderminster & District Soroptimists club, said: “I am grateful to all who contributed towards the success of this day. It will definitely feature again in the club’s programme next year.”
Soroptimist International is a global women's organisation which aims to improve and transform the lives of women and children around the world by lobbying, direct action and fundraising.
