TIGER WOODS again showed why he's world No.1 when he turned the final of the Accenture Match Play Championship into a one-man exhibition.

With 14 birdies in 29 holes, Woods posted the largest margin of victory in the event's championship match, an eight-and-seven hammering of fellow American Stewart Cink.

"This is certainly the best I've ever played," Woods said.

SPEEDWAY: Glasgow Tigers chief Alan Dick has moved to assure fans that Mitch Davey and Josh Grajczonek will make it to the UK in time for the new season. Tigers rookie Aussie duo missed their scheduled flight last Friday after failing to gain entry visas from the British consulate in Canberra.

BASKETBALL: Scottish Rocks fell to Guildford Heat at Braehead by 72-84. It was only their second consecutive League loss since October.

Rocks co-captains Rob Yanders and Julius Joseph led the way for the Braehead side with 22 and 17 points respectively. Maurice Hampton added 12, but it wasn't enough. Rocks face Worcester on Saturday, before returning home to host Birmingham on March 9.

CRICKET: Owais Shah rode his luck before falling four runs short of a century in today's warm-up match against a New Zealand Invitational XI as the Middlesex right-hander tries to force a recall in the build-up to England's opening Test against New Zealand next week.

Shah struggled to make an impact during the 3-1 one-day series defeat and entered today's two-day match, one of two warm-up games before the opening Test in Hamilton, knowing he needs runs to stand any chance of a recall.

But while Andrew Strauss, his main rival for the remaining spot in England's top order, struggled to score four, Shah was given two reprieves on his way to scoring 96 as the tourists reached 369 for nine at the close of the opening day after being put into bat.

TENNIS: Top seed Andy Roddick won his first title of the year by beating Radek Stepanek 6-4, 7-5 in the final of the San Jose Open.
