A HOSPITAL consultant has been suspended following allegations of indecent assault made by two female patients.

Police have charged Dr Keith Woo, a dermatologist at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. A report is being sent to the procurator-fiscal in Inverness.

On the General Medical Council register, Dr Woo, 35, appears as Wai Kit Woo. He trained at Monash University in Australia and qualified in 1997. He went to Raigmore as a consultant in 2004.

According to colleagues, Dr Woo has been granted indefinite emergency leave.

A spokesman for NHS Highland said: "We are co-operating fully with the police . . . We can't make any further comment at this stage."

A 26-year-old woman from Easter Ross is said to have complained to Raigmore about Dr Woo's behaviour in September. She alleges he touched her inappropriately.

Later another woman made a similar complaint.

Police said: "A 35-year-old man is the subject of a report to the fiscal in Inverness in connection with charges of alleged indecent assault."
