Danny Hylton is unfazed by the prospect of carrying Oxford United’s goalscoring burden in the FA Cup tonight.

The 25-year-old is set to play up front against Tranmere Rovers in place of Tyrone Barnett, whose loan from Peterborough United has expired after netting four goals in the previous three games.

Hylton is the club’s top scorer with 12 this season, but has gone five appearances since last finding the net while playing in a wide attacking role.

None of it concerns United’s No 10, who will be aiming to do all he can to help them into the third round.

Latest United news:

He said: “If the gaffer wants me to play up front I’ll do what I do every game – work as hard as I can and do my best to get a goalscoring opportunity and if I do I’ll try and take it.

“There’s players in this team that can score goals and everyone is going to have to chip in over the course of the season, so if it’s not me scoring I’m sure someone else will.”

A home game against Swansea City awaits tonight’s winners, but Hylton’s focus is purely on beating Micky Adams’ men.

He said: “Everyone’s different, but I’m sure most of the lads will just be going there knowing we have to beat Tranmere.”
