YORK CITY manager Russ Wilcox says his side have been working hard on their finishing as they bid to record a first home win of the season against Oxford United tomorrow.

The Minstermen, who are yet to win at Bootham Crescent this season in ten games, will leapfrog the U’s with victory.

Wilcox said: “It is huge. I don’t want to put too much pressure on the players because I think it is important to keep them level and focused and without putting too much pressure on them.

“I think our home performances have been fairly good.

Latest United news:

“We certainly should have won the cup game last week against Wimbledon. We created enough opportunities to score two or three goals “That’s what we have been working on mainly this week – the final third.

“We have got to score more goals to win football matches.”

He added: “Oxford are down there with us as well, which is unexpected.

“Both teams had good seasons. Oxford faded away a little bit, but they were at the top end most of the season.

“I don’t think anyone expected to see York and Oxford at the bottom end.

“So it is a big, big game, and one that we are going to go out and win.”
