OXFORD United's Tom Newey has agreed a loan move to Northampton Town until January.

The defender is one of several out-of-favour senior players available for moves away and has linked up with Cobblers boss Chris Wilder, who brought him to United in July 2013.

Newey, who has played 61 games for the club, began the season as the club's first-choice left back, but has not featured since the 5-1 defeat at Cambridge United earlier this month.

Since then U's boss Michael Appleton has preferred 18-year-old loanee Tareiq Holmes-Dennis.

No other players are expected to be loaned out before Saturday's home game against Wycombe Wanderers.
