OXFORD United have brought in Jonathan Henly on loan from Reading to act as goalkeeping cover for the next month.

The 19-year-old signed in time to be included in the squad for tomorrow's game against Portsmouth at the Kassam Stadium.

United needed to make a move due to Max Crocombe, who is normally Ryan Clarke's deputy, picking up a shoulder injury.

A specialist has advised the New Zealand under 20 international to rest while it heals, while goalkeeping coach Wayne Brown, who is still registered as a player, is still recovering from a broken ankle.

Henly has not played a senior game for Reading, but spent time on loan at Aldershot earlier this season.

He made one appearance for the Shots, a 1-1 Skrill Premier draw against Chester in November.

The Scot is the second signing United have sealed today, following Nicky Wroe's arrival this morning.
