A CONMAN claiming to be comedian Peter Kay’s brother is wanted for a series of frauds by police.

In the summer of 2009, a man allegedly tricked pub landlords in Derby out of money by claiming to be Danny Kay – the brother of Peter Kay.

He offered to put on comedy nights to raise money for the Lewis Mighty Fund, a charity raising money for Lewis, a seven-year-old who died from neuroblastoma last year.

The man was given cash by the landlords to secure the booking but failed to perform.

Officers want to speak to Peter Stead, aged 50, in connection with the incidents.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
