A PROJECT has been launched to offer work and training to disadvantaged people in Stroud.
Future Clean provides a car valeting service to help people with learning disabilities gain the necessary skills to find work, while paying them a wage.
The project, in partnership with Stroud District Council and Gloucestershire County Council, will be managed by Hft - a national charity offering a range of support services to people with learning disabilities across the country.
David Hagg, chief executive of SDC, said: "Jobs and growth are key priorities for the council.
"Helping people with learning disabilities into employment through practical experience and training in this way is a great idea."
The service is available at Brunel Mall Car Park, in London Road, Stroud on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Hft is aiming to provide a service to businesses cleaning fleet vehicles and staff cars in the future.
