Andy waiting in the Whings!

Andy Whing will soon start training Andy Whing will soon start training

The end of Andy Whing’s absence from the Oxford United side could be in sight after encouraging news from medical staff.

A groin injury has seen the 28-year-old miss the start of the season.

The midfielder remains several weeks away from a return, but has been given the all-clear to begin running again.

He tweeted: “Good news from the specialist today. Hopefully can crack on now and start running!!! #bored of swimming.”

Before later adding: “Still a couple of weeks away from training with the boys but at least I can start running now and get fit!! #oufc.”

Good news - cant come soon enough. We have sorely missed his grit and determination in the team. With Lee Cox in the side as well we will have set up that should give better protection to Clarkey.

Whing is certainly one player who has been sorely missed and will add skill and strength to the team and he could provide cover which will enable Batt to go forward more.

It doesn't matter who is available. Until we get rid of Wilder we will continue to struggle.

Great news! Come on Whingy we need to back. Need someone in the middle who will put a challenge in and win the ball back. Doesn't mind getting his short dirty unlike most of the squad. They are wrapped in cotton wool too much. Need to be firmer with the players and tell them to man up a little bit!

Shut up Chish and Fips. Wait till PDC bankrupts you and you fall down the leagues! We are just getting the bad run out the way now!

Great news!!! My favourite player back and will bring some much needed composure to our midfield! The only player who is determined from first to final whistle and throws his face at anything - cos he knows he can't cause anymore damage ;) The sooner he's back, the better. I backed Whing from the start and he's come good and I think the same for Raynes...Many have been critical but he has some extremely good traits and will show his worth soon. Also, Chish and Fips shut up and go grovel in your Sw*ndon hole.
