Swindon striker Kerrouche joins Oxford United on loan

Oxford United have today signed Swindon Town striker Mehdi Kerrouche.

The Algerian has fallen out of favour with Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio and will join the U's on a month's loan.

He will not, however, be allowed to play in the derby match on March 3 when Oxford take on Swindon at the Kassam Stadium.

This is a bit worrying - he is a good player and will score goals, Hopefully not against us. With PDC it is "my way, or the highway", and it seems to work - Mehdi did not fit that mantra. I wish him well, he will be an asset to you.

Yeah I would agree with Coleview Red. Kerrouche certainly knows where the goal is, but there's definitely a "work ethic" issue there. Still glad he won't play against us though!

Interesting signing. Hopefully a good one. Needed to be done with Potter and now Pittman out. Will there actually be any games for him to play though! Not at this rate! Postponements!

Agent kerrouche, your mission is to infiltrate enemy lines, miss as many chances as possible, cause unrest within your new team mates, cause unrest within the home fans and then report back to hq in a months time.

Your job has already been made easier as we have already "unsettled" one of your new team mates who goes by the name of constable.

Your monthly payment has been taken care of and will be made by oxfords 12th man supporters fund.

Good luck!!

If he starts scoring which I am sure he will he is only on loan for a month so he will come back here and sit in the stands. You will be able to just wonder what could have been. I will laugh also.

Paulo Di Canio is in for a severe roasting by all Oxford fans in March. Loaning out this player will not soften the blow for him.

Still, Kerrouche will be taught what loyalty is at Oxford. Something that isn't practised at football clubs from Wiltshire.

With Pittman, Craddock and Potter all out for at least a month, he could be just what the doctor ordered.

CW and KT certainly wouldn't normally be looking at a smoking striker with a dubious work ethic. And the fans wouldn't normally want a sindon striker.... But, let's face it, we're desperate.... Craddock, Potter, and now Pittman....and aussie fletcher below the mustard.....
.
Hopefully Kerrouche can score a couple and show some class - though I can't see him staying on a long term contract regardless of how well he does.
.
Oldun, and other 4-4-2 disciples - with our striker injuries, your time to shine may be now.
.
But if it doesn't work, will you come out and say "4-4-2" clearly doesn't suit us? Betcha don't......

yeah, I'm sure it will bother him, I mean, playing in Glasgow and Rome derbies will be nothing compared to the wrath of spotty urchins from Oxturd. And anyway, he will have the last laugh when we walks away with three points.

Nice to see a bit of good clean banter from our Swindon friends for a change. Over the years strikers have been lazy, drinkers and smokers - however they have scored a few goals just to spite the clean living!

mandate - The more you write on here the more of an idiot you are. Talk about Loyalty are you having a laugh after all the abuse and tweets you lot of scum sent to Constable when he was told he could talk to us, is that loyalty to a player you were supposed to have supported. Anyway on that subject Paolo pulled the plug on the deal not Constable as you morons think.

As for giving Paolo stick i will tell you now he loves it and revels in it so it will be like water off a ducks back for him so the more you do it the more he will love it. The guy is total professional and also it will inspire our players even more and i feel a Southend stuffing for you lot on the 3rd March in your 3 sided ground.

Mandate read what you write you moron before going to print.

medhi is a bit lazy, which is why it is believed he fell out of favour with Paolo and was not even training with the first team. That said, he is a quality striker and will score goals, as long as he gets the service.

Kerouche highlights. Takes a good corner, and a good free kick. And I think he can play in a 3....

Top player, good shot, knows where the net is, good at free licks, corners, but lazy at tracking back and following team orders. Very much a Maverick, but a likeable Maverick. Just wish he would follow team orders and train like the rest of our players. Should do a decent job for you lot, providing the weather allows.

"legod"? What a ponce. You're dreamin if you really believe it was pdc that pulled the plug. Are you calling your own chairman a liar as well as JC? Or might it be the fascist you worship that lied....._?¿?¿?

to benkiuguasu - Sorry but if you listen to the interviews about the Constable move he wanted to speak to Swindon Town he then phoned Jeremy Wray and asked if he could have a bit more time to think about things. JW then phoned Di Canio and told him this while PDC was on his way to county ground to meet with Constable he then told JW not to bother with him if he is stuttering as he dont want to move straight away then he is not coming here. As for Kerrouche he did play well for Swindon and is a very good striker and will score goals for you. Can be a bit lazy and must have a attitude problem as i know there is no future for him at Swindon. But what actually went on between them 2 we will never actually know. Also how does stfc fans know he smokes. Personally i cant believe stfc have loaned him to a rival and a promotion rival as well we did it with Bodin to Torquay and now Kerrouche also what gets me is why only 1 month when he has no future at swindon or will it mean if he peforms well at Oxford does he come back to us.

Your twist on things is always good for a laugh. Somehow you don't know PDC as well as you think you do, loaning a player to soften the blow - what planet are you on.

I have mixed emotions about this loan - by all means loan him out, but not to local rival team also looking for promotion.
Still lets see what happens, seems you must be pretty desperate.

He hasn't played for a while so may not be match fit - so by the end of the month loan we should have a good idea whether we want him back.

Have a good week you lot.

Think it depends which team you support, as to which version you want to believe ... and without falling into your childish name calling game - will leave it at that.

Have a good week you lot.

to achieve in football you need a bit of luck as well as ability and right now our luck is right out. to lose three front players in the same week is a real blow, and as our new signings will inevetably take a while to bed in we may struggle for a bit.stfc fans suggest kerrouche is a good player but a bit of a loose cannon so i hope that cw can get him to blend in to our team ethic as we need a bit of inspiration .

Kerouche is a great player, one of the best strikers at the Town, he will score goals, but he doesn't do what is asked of him, our season has turned since the clarke incident when the players started playing as a team and now we are flying, Mehdi was given an opportunity to prove Paolo wrong and he didn't take it, but he is a great player.
