OXFORD United are being strongly linked with a move for Halmstad midfielder Ivo Pekalski.
The 26-year-old, who was capped by the senior Sweden side in 2013, is out of contract later this year at the top-flight club.
A newspaper in Sweden, the Evening Post, has reported the U's are his most likely destination.
The transfer would involve a fee, the first United have paid this summer.
United manager Pep Clotet was head coach at Halmstad in 2011, following a spell at Malmo, where he would have worked with Pekalski.
If the move comes to fruition it would be the second player from that squad to join, following the signing of left back Ricardinho last week.
