DANNY Rose has urged Oxford United’s young wingers to embrace the challenge posed by the arrival of Jordan Graham.

The 20-year-old moved on an initial 28-day loan from Wolves on Monday and made his debut as a substitute in the 2-1 win at York City 24 hours later.

Graham favours an attacking role on the left flank, a position Rose has occupied in recent games.

While the experienced midfielder is unfazed by the prospect of coming under pressure for his place in the side at Accrington Stanley tomorrow, Rose advised the likes of AJ George and Sam Humphreys to capitalise on chances when they arise.

He said: “I’ve played enough games to know how to deal with it and know not to see it as a negative and go into your shell, as some young players may do.

“I think the young players who have maybe been on the bench and see an attacking winger come in have got to try their best to learn from the experience and make the most of their opportunities when they’re in and around the squad.”
