RYAN Taylor has become Oxford United's third signing of the summer after agreeing a two-year deal with the club.

The 27-year-old striker has been linked with a move for several weeks and joins as a free agent after Portsmouth decided against offering him a new contract at Fratton Park.

Taylor, who follows Kemar Roofe and Liam Sercombe into the club this month, is delighted to complete the switch.

He said: "Oxford are very ambitious and I want to be apart of that, so I can't wait to get going."

Taylor scored ten goals last season at Fratton Park and formed a dangerous partnership with Sky Bet League Two top scorer Matt Tubbs.

He spent 18 months at Pompey, following on from a tough spell at Bristol City.

Mark Ashton, United's chief executive, said: "I think it's another big signing for us.

"Ryan will bring us something different, he brings a physicality we probably haven't got at the moment and we're delighted to have him here."
