County player Preben Krabben’s three maximums proved in vain as Greene King ODDA Section 1 leaders Rose Hill CC triumphed 7-2 away to Premier side Goodlake Arms A.

The visitors got off to a great start when Geordie Grant, Steve Pladdys and Terry Wood (180) gave them a 3-0 lead.

Goodlake pulled one back thanks to Krabben’s fine 3-2 victory over Dave Witherwick, which inclued three 180’s, but Tony Allday soon restored Rose Hill’s three-game advantage.

The home side reduced the arrears when Kevins Wilkins beat Ray Pape in the last singles game, only for Rose Hill to storm home by taking the pairs 3-0.

Cowley Workers SC stay in touch with the Section 1 leaders after a convincing 6-3 success over the visiting Kidlington Green Social Club.

Windrush Social Club are running away with the Premier title race – their latest 9-0 demolition of Peachcroft Social Club leaves them 21 points ahead of their nearest challengers.

George Bar went down 7-2 away to Section 2 rivals Red Lion, despite taking a 2-0 lead following wins from Carl Pitson and John Cole.

The home side roared back to go 4-2 up after sterling displays from Steve Willoughby, Mathew Brain (180), Jason Coates and Darren Hammond, the latter hitting two ton-plus finishes of 130 and 110.

The Lion’s good form continued in the pairs, which they clinched 3-0.

Leaders Three Horseshoes increased their advantage after a 6-3 victory at Democrats Club.

Second-placed Corner House defeated Nuffield Lounge 5-4.
