Banbury's Borough’s triple of Richard Redford, Keith Holloway and Mick Redmond fought back from the dead to book their place in the semi-finals of the OBA triples with a 21-19 win against Headington at West Witney BC.

Trailed 17-3 to the Headington trio of John Philpott, Mark Charlett and Ian Snowdon, it looked all over.

But a dramatic finale saw Borough complete the turnaround. Thame’s Vic Webb, Adrian Kemish and Adie Twinn reached the last four with a 23-19 win against the Carterton three of Lee Young, Andy Martin and Alan Prew.

But there was better news for the other Carterton team, with Stuart Richens, Rob Clanfield and Baden Sparkes making the semi-finals with a 21-11 success against Banbury Central’s Graham Morbey, Nigel Galletly and Les Campion.

Defending champions Nathan Lewis and Mark Chartlett reached the last four of the pairs, with a 17-14 win against Bicester’s Martin Woodman and Paul Hooley.

Lee Young and Alan Prew from Carterton saw off clubmates Shane Cooper and David Clanfield 24-10.

Headington’s John Philpott and Ian Snowdon crushed the Thame pair of Casper Du Preez and Paul Heafey 20-9.

Ian Henwood and Craig Nicoll, from Headington, saw off the Kidlington pair of David Snell and Chris Weller in a 26-17 triumph.
