Oxfordshire made it a hat- trick of wins in the Home Counties League with a 121-102 victory against Berkshire at South Oxford BC.

Having already beaten Surrey and Sussex, the leaders took on a strong Berkshire side for a 16-6 points win.

With Surrey beating Kent, it puts Oxon in a good position with three games to go.

Mark Charlett’s four of Carterton’s Shane Cooper, plus Kidlington duo Chris Weller and John Hardie led the way taking 13 shots without reply in the last six ends to finish as the highest winning rink.

Baden Sparkes’ four of Robbie Clanfield, Richard Jackson and Ryan Full trailed 8-4 to Adrian Collins’ four after ten ends, but they turned it around for a 16-12 win.

Oxon’s Middleton Cup captain, Alan Prew led by example and played some great shots, only to end up three down to Chris Holliday’s four.

Alan Ley, playing Oxon old boy Ryan Buckett, lost by four points, while Mark Sykes’ four let slip a 13-10 lead after ten ends before losing 23-17 to Andy Knapper’s quartet.

Although Berkshire closed to two shots late on, Oxon were always in control ahead of their long journey to Kent in a fortnight’s time.
