Oxford Boxing Academy fighters had two wins out of three at the Boston Dome in London.

Cowley’s Adam Howard won on his return after seven months out with illness.

The 21-year-old, nicknamed ‘the Hitman’, started slowly, but a looping right-hander in the second round sent Mo Farah (Islington ABC) crashing to the canvas.

Farah was on the receiving end of another powerful left hook in the third round and was forced to receive a mandatory count of eight.

Farah lasted the round but the judges declared Howard the unanimous winner.

Ben Kaluza proved the selectors were right to chose him to attend the GB trials this month when he beat Keith Dyer (Haringey Police Community Club).

The Bicester-based 18-year-old’s power and speed was too much for Dyer, 23.

The referee stopped the bout twice to check Dyer’s nose after several punishing uppercuts and Kaluza came out on top on all the judges’ cards.

Bradley Townsend was unable to complete a hat-trick for the Academy.

A tactical error saw the 17-year-old fight from long range and he lost on points to Adam Chima of Finchley ABC.
