BOWLS: Hawes in early exit

OXFORD & District’s Katherine Hawes fell at the first hurdle in the national finals of the English Indoor Bowling Association’s Champion of Champions competition at Warner Lakeside, Hayling Island.

Hawes put up a spirited effort before losing 21-18 to Cumbria’s Janice Gower.
