AUNT SALLY: Super Sawyer sinks George

Paul Sawyer bagged a six in his 15-doll haul (5-4-6) to help Six Bells C Kidlington to a 3-0 home win against George in the Premier Division clash.

Six Bells won the opening leg by the odd doll 30-29, before sealing victory 27-25 in the second leg.

The third leg went to a three-stick shoot-out after the sides were locked at 27-27, with a massive set of 19 dolls.

New Club had a narrow win over Chequers with the last two legs going to a three -stick shoot-out.

Chequers took the first leg 21-18, but won the next two after they were tied 20-20, 21-21.

Red Lion Eynsham defeated Three Pigeons 2-1.

Lion took the opener on a a three-stick shoot-out after the sides were tied at 26-26.

Chasing 31, it looked grim for Three Pigeons when their first four players mustered only 12.

However, the next three clanged off 15 dolls, including a six from Dave Townsend to leave anchor man Neil Lyon five to win the leg.

He fell one short to set up another three-stick shoot-out, which Three Pigeons duly won.

Red Lion set 28 in the decider, with Three Pig-eons falling seven short. Townsend and Eddie Edwards bagged 14 dolls for Pigeons while Brian Lawfull and John Greenaway hit sixes in their 13-doll hauls for Red Lion.

Kennington Social Club got the better of Kidlington Sports Club in a 3-0 victory in Section 6.

They hit 18 in each leg, which was more than enough as Sports could on-ly reply with 10-12-15.

Six Bells A Kidlington lost 2-1 to Masons Arms B in Section 8, despite scoring six more dolls than the opposition.

Six Bells took the first leg 17-9 and lost the next leg 11-12, before Masons won the decider on a three-stick shoot-out after the sides were tied at 16-16.

Blackbird’s Section 9 title ambitions suffered a dent in a 2-1 defeat against Donnington Social Club.

They won the opener 15-10 before setting 17 in the next.

In reply, Blackbirds anchor man Dave Simms hit the four dolls needed to level and also win the leg on a three-stick shoot- out.
