ALAN Hill will bid to close the gap in the trainers’ title at Sunday’s Kimblewick meeting at Kingston Blount.

The Aston Rowant handler trails Philip Rowley by six in the race for top honours, despite saddling five winners over the bank holiday weekend.

Hill has a plethora of entries at his local track, with the prolific Broken Eagle in line to run in the men’s open.

Sedgemoor Express looks the one to beat in the ladies open, while champion lady rider Gina Andrews is set to partner Hawkhurst in the conditions race.

And Hill must decide which of his veteran trio to run in the closing members’ race, with Consigliere, Ravethebrave and Start Royal – who have a combined age of 43 and have notched 49 wins between them – all entered.

The first race is due off at 2pm, with entry £13 per adult.

The course is situated two miles from junction 6 of the M40 at OX39 4SG.
