LOGAN Bryan led the way as City of Oxford’s up-and-coming swimmers showed off their speed in a 50m pool at the Wycombe Long Course Sprint Meet.

The promising 14-year-old collected seven gold medals and one silver, earning him the honour of taking home the ‘top boy’ trophy.

Bryan won the 50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly and came second in the 50m butterfly.

He said: “I knew it was a lot of races and I would be tired but my coach Zichen Liu told me to just do what I did in training and dig deep”.

Other notable City successes came across the age groups.

Tristan Dennis, nine, won golds in the 50m and 100m butterfly, silvers in the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle, and bronzes in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Monty Salmon, also nine, gained four golds in 50m & 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke and one silver in 50m freestyle.

Max Boyns, 17, bagged golds in 50m fly, 50m backstroke and 100m breaststroke and silvers in 50m & 100m freestyle.

For the girls, Zofia Conway, nine, took golds in 50m and 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle. She added silvers in 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly.
