THERE was success for Oxfordshire riders Oliver Fletcher and Alfie Bradstock in the British Spring Championships.
Fletcher, from Faringdon, became the Winter 1.35m champion with his father Graham’s 15-year-old bay gelding, Caicos, after producing the sole clear round in the jump-off at Addington Manor, Buckingham.
The 15-year-old – the youngest rider in the class – produced a magical round to collect the £1,500 first prize.
Caicos was ridden by Bradstock until last September.
Meanwhile, Bradstock, from Letcombe Bassett, took the Winter Grade C Championship on board his new mount Fuzeta Beech, a nine-year-old grey mare.
“She’s very quick and jumps better with a bit of pace,” said the son of racehorse trainers Mark and Sara Bradstock.
“The track suited her nicely, she likes to keep moving on.”
