BADMINTON: Charlie Driver wins two medals in Nottingham
CHARLIE Driver won two medals at the Under 17 Silver tournament in Nottingham.
The Oxfordshire teenager partnered host player Daniel Thomas to win the boys doubles.
They beat No 1 seeds Ethan Hosken (Buckinghamshire) and Luke Hoult (Leicestershire) 12-15, 15-12, 15-6.
Driver then took bronze in the boys’ singles.
There were mixed fortunes for Oxfordshire’s players in the Under 13 Gold tournament in Milton Keynes.
Jason Ou reached the singles final, but had to settle for a silver medal after losing 23-21, 21-12 to Surrey’s Jia Bin Lee.
Ben Horseman made the semi-finals of the mixed doubles with Sofia Bao (Kent), but an injury sustained in the singles event saw him have to settle for bronze.
